Meet the Pastor

Reverend Doctor Sherry Blackman

Pastor, Chaplain, Author

Rev. Dr. Sherry Blackman has been the pastor of the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain in Delaware Water Gap, PA, since 2014. Ordained in 2007, her first career was as a journalist when she wrote for dozens of newspapers and magazines, and traveled to over two dozen countries on assignment. She has served as the chaplain at the TravelCenters of America in Columbia, NJ, since 2006. She is the author of Call to Witness, One Woman's Battle with a disability, discrimination and a pharmaceutical powerhouse (2013); Tales from the Trail, Stories from the Oldest Hiker Hostel on the Appalachian Trail (2022), Letters to Our Daughters (2022); and REV-IT-UP, Tales of a Truck Stop Chaplain (2022). Her dissertation on The Transformative Power of Creativity, which was the impetus for the church’s Artists in Residence mission, will be published in the near future.

Louise Bach - Office Administrator

Louise Bach has been the Office Administrator at Presbyterian Church of the Mountain for the last 13 years.

Louise has an Associates Degree from Berkeley College of Business with certificates in Human Resources, Virtual Assisting. She is a member of International Association of Professional Bookkeepers and owner of Premier Administrative Resources since 2004.

Louise lives in nearby Bushkill with her dog, Stella, and cockatiels Maizy and Nina.

Flo Powell - Church Pianist

Flo Powell is a pianist, piano teacher and proprietor of Flo’s Piano Studio in Minisink Hills, and serves as the pianist at the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain.

She has a BA degree in Piano Performance, certification in (fix spacing) Piano Pedagogy, and an AS degree in Music Education. She has also studied privately with renowned pianists in Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rhythm & Blues, Broadway and Gospel music.

Flo has presented or performed for varied churches, from Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist, and Pentecostal churches in New Jersey to the Pennsylvania Reformed Church of Bushkill and United Methodist Church in Mount Pocono.

She has also served the Performing Arts of Seton Hall University, Piscataway High School, and Newark Vocational High School, all in New Jersey. Flo has played for private parties at Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort and other venues (political events, night clubs and more) in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.
